Cashless Health Insurance: Why You Could Still Pay More

Cashless means the insurer pays the hospital directly, but only the amount it approves. At some hospitals, the same doctor charges more for each visit in a private room, and nursing costs more too. Under some policies, if the private room rent is double the shared room rent, the insurer may pay only half of the doctor's fees and nursing charges. Before choosing a room, check what your policy allows and what that room could cost you.
