Top-up vs Super Top-up Health Insurance: The Difference
A top-up can add affordable health cover above a set deductible. Your existing policy or your own money pays up to that amount. With a five-lakh deductible, two eligible claims of three lakh and four lakh in one policy year do not individually cross the threshold, so a per-claim top-up pays nothing in this example. A super top-up adds the eligible claims to seven lakh, so it could pay the two-lakh excess, subject to policy terms and available cover. Ask your advisor to compare suitable options and their policy terms.
